Portsmouth International Kite Festival took place on Southsea Common from the 23rd to 25th of August for the 17th time and was bigger and better than ever.

A huge range of guests attended, both old favourites and new discoveries. Highlights included:

• The celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Revolution kite, with 47 revolution fliers participating in spectacular mega displays.

• An amazing array of soft inflatable kites, from giant salamanders, to awe inspiring jesters and devils

• Beautiful artistic creations by celebrated kite fliers from all over the world, including award winning intriquely appliqued kites.

• Skilled team flying by champion two line fliers, displaying in fantastic routines set to music.

Join us again next year from the 29th - 31st of August 2009 for the 18th festival for a great mix of displays, kites and guests both old and new.
